What is CareerForge?
An AI teammate for your job search that runs on your own computer — and why that matters.
Job hunting is a second job nobody pays you for. You rewrite the same CV for the tenth time, search the same job boards, lose track of where you applied, and wonder whether any of it is working.
CareerForge takes the repetitive parts off your plate. It is a free, open-source toolkit that turns an AI assistant — Claude Code, which runs in a window on your own computer — into a patient teammate for your search. You talk to it in plain language. It does the legwork. You stay in charge of every decision.
The whole idea in three moves
/setup — it learns who you are
Point it at your CV and LinkedIn export, or just answer its questions. It builds a profile from your real experience — and never invents skills you don't have.
/search — it finds openings
It sweeps the job boards you choose, skips postings you've already seen, and ranks every new match High, Medium, or Low for you.
/apply — it writes, you approve
For a posting you like, it scores the fit, drafts a tailored CV and cover letter, has a second AI critique them, and hands you two polished PDFs.
Every application is recorded in one simple file you own, and a local dashboard turns that file into charts: how active you've been, where your applications stand, which companies you're pursuing.
Who this is for
You don't need to be a programmer. If you can install two pieces of software
and type short commands like /search, you can use CareerForge. The Quick
Start walks you through everything, including the
installs.
It is built for job seekers anywhere: no country, language, or job board is hardcoded. You tell it where you're looking and which sites matter in your market. Cover letters are written in the language of the posting; the CV is always in English.
The promises it keeps
- Your data stays yours. Your profile, applications, and documents live on your machine and are never uploaded anywhere. See Privacy.
- It never makes things up about you. Every line in a generated CV must trace back to your real profile. If a claim is a stretch, it flags it and asks.
- You have the final word. It never submits an application for you. It prepares; you review and send.
